Current projects

The Environmental Technology Network is to further grow and successively offer its companies more. In 2010, again, we have asked our network companies for subjects and projects for the upcoming year. At the 4th network meeting on 19 November 2010, they decided as follows:

Project groups and subject areas:

  • Energy-efficient building / house of the future (working title)
  • International marketing of environmental technologies from the region of Lake Constance
  • Environmental protection and sustainability
  • Water / sewage and filters – contact person: Dr. Almut Gerhardt
  • Waste, recycling and redevelopment

Are you interested in participating in one of these groups? Take part in 2011! The Environmental Technology Network needs your input! Let us know if you would like to participate in a project group or if you are interested in a certain subject area. At the beginning of 2011, an interactive network map will be integrated on a subpage of www.umweltnetzwerk.net. This shows where our companies are located. Come back soon and take a look!

Events for know-how- and technology transfer (autumn 2011)

On 17 June 2010, the innovation conference for 2010, “Environmental Technology – Innovation for the Future”, took place in Neuhausen am Rheinfall (CH). It was organised by Bodensee Standort Marketing GmbH (Lake Constance Location Marketing) in cooperation with the Border Commission (“Randenkommission”), the “Industrie- und Technozentrum Schaffhausen” and the “Industrie- & Wirtschafts-Vereinigung Schaffhausen”. The conference was the kick-off for a number of events around the lake which will be continued next year.

For autumn 2011, an event for know-how- and technology transfer is planned and will join businesses, universities and research institutions. The subject for 2011 is “Environmental Technology meets Nanotechnology” – the Environmental Technology Network is organising the event together with the EMPA, the Nano-Cluster Bodensee and the N.E.B. e.V. All network companies are warmly invited to share their ideas and wishes in advance. Please contact Dr. Barbara Giehmann. Tel.: 0049 7531 800 1145, Email: Barbara.Giehmann@b-sm.com.

Cooperation database (completion beginning of 2011)

The new cooperation database aims to join individuals in the environmental technology sector in the Lake Constance region (D, CH, AT, FL). It is open to companies, trade businesses, service providers, universities, research institutions, entrepreneurs and organisations from the environmental sector. One emphasis is the initiation of partnerships between universities and research institutions so as to allow better technology- and know-how transfer. Through the database, each network company can offer partnerships or respond to offers. Companies can present themselves in one of the areas only accessible to network members and find partners for projects or for business. In the company survey taken last year, this aspect took second place after events for technology- and know-how transfer. BSM is currently working on the realisation.

On 15 July 2010, a workshop for the Environmental Technology Network cooperation database took place at the Administrative District Office of Constance.  Together with a team from Maass Consulting and project manager Barbara Giehmann, company representatives developed basic concepts for a good cooperation database. At the top of the wish list was personal contact and consulting services in addition to the database – a wish that BSM is pleased to take up. Along with company profiles in the database, there will be the possibility to enter searches for partnerships for current projects in a specific project area. In this way, users can search for partners in a targeted and projected-oriented manner. The suggestions from the workshop are now being realised. We look forward to presenting the database to you on its completion.
